Elden Updates

Good Morning Elden Families!

First, I want to express my sincere gratitude for your patience and trust last Thursday as we navigated the high school situation and subsequent lockout at Elden. Safety is our top priority, and I’m incredibly grateful to our Elden staff for keeping our Eagles safe while maintaining a sense of normalcy.

Second, congratulations to our Elden Creativity Club and director Mrs. D’Andreano on a fantastic performance of Jack and the Beanstalk Rap! They did an amazing job—way to go, Eagles!

Third, a big thank you to Mr. Vanderstouw and the B’ville Pep Band for their incredible performance last Friday. After a tough day on Thursday, their music lifted our spirits and gave our Eagles a chance to dance and cheer—just what we needed!

This week is district-wide spirit week! Check out the flyer below for daily themes. We kick off today with "Dress to Impress" day followed by hat day tomorrow.

Also, join us for our PTA meeting on Tuesday at Sky Zone! While we meet, the kids can jump for free. Hope to see you there!

We Need Your Input!

We are using ThoughtExchange and the linked survey below to gather feedback from the Elden community to help us identify our strengths and areas for growth.

The feedback will be used to help us develop an improvement plan to address our school's designation by New York State as a school in need of Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI) based on student performance on the Grades 3-8 English Language Arts and Mathematics tests during the 2022-23 and 2023-24 school years.

The survey is expected to take less than 10 minutes to complete.

Thank you for your continued support in ensuring success for all students. We appreciate your feedback as we work together to improve our school!

Positivity Project

This week, our school community will focus on the Other People Mindset of Cheering Others’ Successes. This means when someone else does well, we are happy for them and show our support.

It's normal to sometimes feel jealous or envious when others succeed, but learning to genuinely celebrate their accomplishments can improve our own happiness and relationships. Supporting others not only helps them feel good but also strengthens our community and creates a positive environment.

Encouraging your child to be happy for others can start with simple actions, such as congratulating a friend, noticing feelings of envy and asking why, or learning from others’ successes. These steps build a supportive culture in families, teams, schools, and communities.

To practice and encourage this Other People Mindset at home, please visit The Positivity Project’s mobile-friendly P2 for Families at:
