Elden Updates

Good Morning Elden,

What a week we had! We kicked things off with a fantastic spring orchestra concert. Congratulations to our talented 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade orchestra students on their amazing performances. As a former viola player myself, hearing you all play brought me so much joy! A big thank you to Mrs. Pisagih for all of her hard work preparing our ensembles for the big night.

Last week, our PTA also hosted another BOGO Scholastic Book Fair during the school day, which continues through today (5/5). It’s a great opportunity for students to pick out some wonderful new books!

Friday night was a blast with our annual Spring Book Fair, Art Show, and BINGO Night. I was so impressed with the beautiful artwork displayed in the gym—congratulations to all of our Elden artists! A special thank you to Mr. Loring for organizing the art show, and to our incredible PTA board for planning such a fun and memorable evening. It was truly heartwarming to see our school community come together.

This week is Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week! Please take a moment to join me in thanking our amazing Elden team for everything they do each and every day.

Let's have a great week Eagles!

Elden Word of the Day

We implemented a "word of the day" here at Elden, because we recognize the important role that vocabulary can play in learning to read. Each day, one new vocabulary word will be shared with the entire school via our morning announcements.

Here are our vocabulary words for this week:

May 5: quest
May 6: deceive
May 7: rotate
May 8: comprehend
May 9: adorn

Information Request for Next Year

Positivity Project

This week, our school community will focus on the character strength of Enthusiasm. Enthusiasm means approaching life with energy and excitement, and it helps bring joy to those around us.

When people are enthusiastic, they show excitement about tasks, making it easier for them and others to stay involved. Enthusiastic people often inspire others, bringing fresh ideas and helping groups work better together.

Enthusiasm is contagious! It can lead to more success and happiness for both individuals and groups. When one person shows enthusiasm, it can encourage others to feel more energized and motivated, too.
