Elden Updates

Good Morning,

First, a big thank you to our amazing Elden PTA and community for making Staff Appreciation Week so special! Your creativity and thoughtfulness meant so much to all of us.

Our 3rd–5th graders finished the NYS ELA and Science exams last week and will complete the NYS Math Assessment this week, wrapping up state testing for the 2024–25 school year.

This week also brings some fun! Two grade levels will be heading out on field trips, and we’re looking forward to our Elden Spring Concert. Our band and chorus students have been working hard—I can’t wait to hear them perform!

Finally, congratulations to our talented Elden musicians who participated in NYSSMA SoloFest for the first time. All 10 students earned the highest rating of “Outstanding,” and five even received perfect scores. Way to go, Eagles!

Make it a great week Elden!

Elden Word of the Day

We implemented a "word of the day" here at Elden, because we recognize the important role that vocabulary can play in learning to read. Each day, one new vocabulary word will be shared with the entire school via our morning announcements.

Here are our vocabulary words for this week:

May 12: access
May 13: alternative
May 14: consume
May 15: devote
May 16: indicate

Information Request for Next Year

Believe it or not, we are already starting to plan for next year.

If you know that your student(s) will NOT be returning to Elden, please complete this form for us.

If you student(s) are returning to Elden, no further action is necessary. Thank you!

Positivity Project

This week, our school community will focus on the character strength of Leadership. Leadership means valuing each person in your group and encouraging everyone to do their best.

Leadership can be formal, like being a team captain, or informal, like helping others work together. It’s about getting things done while keeping the group’s spirit strong. Leadership isn’t just about telling people what to do — it’s about listening, understanding others, solving problems, and inspiring everyone to work toward a common goal.

As students learn more about leadership, they will see how working together with others can help them achieve more. Being a good leader helps build confidence and a strong sense of self.
