Second Grade Team
Elden Updates
What a week! Our second full week of school was full of excitement and fun.

This past week we focused on the Positivity Project Character Trait of Curiosity. Staff nominated students who they feel exemplify this trait and students will be honored at our first building-wide assembly. Certificates for each student nominee will also be posted outside their classroom to honor them. Way to go Eagles!

Our staff also had some fun at our first staff meeting of the year. Our second grade team (pictured above) took first place in a balloon race. Congrats Mrs. Kotz, Mrs. Madigan, Mrs. Simmons, Miss Blanco, Mrs. Whitney, Mrs. Delia, Mrs. Mesagna, Mrs. Diep, and Mrs. Aldrich!

The first district Community Cafe took place at Baker last Monday. It was a wonderful opportunity for staff, students, families, and community members to engage in conversation about Family Involvement in Schools. The next one will be held on October 29 and will focus on Cell Phones and Social Media in Schools.

I am looking forward to another wonderful week of school. See below for information on upcoming events, club sign-ups and more. As always, don't hesitate to reach out to me for anything.

This week, our school community will focus on the character strength of Teamwork. Teamwork means you work well as a member of a group or team. You are loyal, reliable, and dedicated to helping your team achieve its goals.

Teamwork involves prioritizing group success. Those strong in teamwork help all group members succeed, committing time and resources to the group's goals. They often delay personal accomplishments to ensure the group's overall success, which fosters positive feelings.

For individuals, teamwork often means deferring or delaying individual accomplishments in order to ensure that the group maintains a high level of success.
