Announcements for September 12, 2025

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Staff,

As we close out the first full week of school, I want to take this opportunity to send another thank you to our families and our staff for support and patience as we all -- students, parents and staff -- get back into our school routines. By working together, we are creating a smooth and successful start to the new school year. 

I would like to acknowledge that this has been a difficult week for many in our school community and across our country. I also want to remind families that our school counselors are available to support students. At any point that you feel your child would benefit from talking with their counselor, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s school. 

I have a few announcements to share with you today: 

Community Café:

You’re invited to join us for our first Community Café of the new school year on Monday, September 15th at C.W. Baker High School in the cafeteria. The topic discussed will be Parent Involvement. The Community Café, which will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., is an opportunity to bring together students, staff, parents and community members to discuss important topics impacting the school district. Guests will gather in small groups as we share ideas, perspectives and light refreshments. Registration is required. We hope you can join us!

Curriculum Nights:

This week three of our buildings held curriculum nights and they will continue in our other buildings next week and the following week. I strongly encourage families to attend and participate in these events as they are a wonderful opportunity to connect with teachers and learn about classroom expectations.

2025 NYSSMA All-State Performing Ensemble:

We are proud to announce that the following Baldwinsville students have been selected for the prestigious 2025 NYSSMA All-State Performing Ensemble, which will be held December 4-7, 2025 in Rochester.

Alexis Quimby - Treble Chorus - Soprano 1

Callia Valentine - Mixed Chorus - Alto 1

Christian Almeida - Mixed Chorus - Tenor 1

Colin Campbell - Mixed Chorus - Bass 2

Ian Duffy - Symphonic Band - Snare Drum

Mia Bush - Symphonic Band - Bb Clarinet - Part 2

Rory Heywood - Alternate - Cello 

Vanessa Tatem - Treble Chorus - Soprano 2

Marching Bees:

Our Marching Bees are off to a great start. The Bees placed 1st in the USBands competition event and 2nd in the National Class at the NYSFBC evening competition. The Bees will compete in the Mohonasen High School show on Saturday. Go Bees! Mark your calendars for the Marching Band Home Show on Saturday, September 20th!
