Cross Country Racers

Dear Elden Students, Families, and Staff:

Good Morning!

What a busy and wonderful week we had last week! Our Trunk-or-Treat, RTI Family Engagement Night, and evening Book Fair were a huge success — even the rain couldn’t dampen the fun! Thank you to Tia Burns, our amazing PTA President, and the entire PTA Board for organizing such a great event. We also appreciate our staff members who volunteered their time (and costumes!) and the families who hosted trunks and made the night so memorable.

Throughout the week, students also enjoyed visiting the Scholastic Book Fair, and we’re so proud of our 4th and 5th grade runners who represented our school at the cross country meet — congratulations to all!

Looking ahead, we’re excited for our Buddy Walk this week in honor of Down Syndrome Awareness Month. Don’t forget that our Spirit Week kicks off today with Comfy Cozy Day and continues throughout the week— we can’t wait to see everyone’s school spirit!

Elden Lost and Found:

Are You Missing Anything?

Once again our lost and found is overflowing with items. Our goal is always to reconnect our students with their items before sending them to be donated.

If your student is missing anything, please email Mrs. Ellis at lellis@bville.org with a description of the item. She will look through the lost and found, and if the item is there, she will make sure it goes home with your student.

You can also remind students to check the tables in the main hallway on their way by!

Elden Community Cafe:

From Hive to Sky: How Eagles Live the 3 Bees

We are excited to host a Community Café event on Thursday, November 6th, 2025 from 6:00–7:00 p.m. in the Elden APR.

This year, we have a schoolwide focus on our new Behavior Matrix, which supports students in learning what it means to Bee Respectful, Bee Responsible, and Bee Safe in every setting. That is why we have chosen the evening’s topic to be:

From Hive to Sky: How Eagles Live the 3 Bees.

Through dialogue, guiding questions, and collaborative activities, we will explore this topic together—reflecting on how our shared expectations help create a positive, supportive learning community for all Eagles.

The evening is open to all Elden Elementary School parents and guardians.

We ask that those interested in attending register using this form

Staff Spotlight:

Mrs. Bach

Katie Bach, Kindergarten

This is my 8th year teaching and my 6th year teaching Kindergarten! Kindergarten has been my absolute favorite grade to teach!

I was born and raised in Baldwinsville and graduated in 2014. When I'm not at work, you can find me spending time with my husband, two twin boys (Henry and William), and adorable dog, Lucy!

The Positivity Project:

P2

P2 Weekly Character Traits

This week, our school community will focus on the Other People Mindset of Knowing That My Words and Actions Affect Others, which means having an awareness that everything that we say and do can affect others — and our relationships with them.

Whether we speak, email, text, or post, our words and actions can have a positive or negative effect. The words and actions we choose can lift others up or bring them down, and they also impact us. When we all think carefully about our words and actions and show respect and care for those around us, we create a happier and healthier community.
