~Together We Help Every Eagle Soar~

November 17, 2025
3rd Graders at The Wizard of Oz

Dear Elden Students, Families, and Staff:

Good Morning!

Last week was a steady and productive week at Elden as students continued to practice daily routines and strengthen their learning. Across classrooms, we also kept our focus on the 3 Bees and our schoolwide behavior expectations, reinforcing what it means to be part of the Elden community.

Looking ahead, we have a full week of school, including a Community Café on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. On Friday, we’ll join together for Paige’s Pajama-Rama! Students and staff are invited to wear their pajamas, and optional donations can be made to support pediatric cancer research (see flyer below).

We’re also excited to share that our PTA has launched a new spirit wear fundraiser in partnership with Orange and Olive. Thank you to PTA President Tia Burns for her hard work in bringing this amazing experience to our school community!

Let's make it a great week!

Staff Spotlight:

Mrs. Ashkar

Sabrina Ashkar, 4th Grade

Hi everyone! I am Sabrina Ashkar and I am a 4th grade teacher here at Elden. This is my first year here, and I am so proud to be an Elden Eagle.

Outside of school, I love spending time in nature whether I’m swimming, exploring parks, or learning about animals. I’ve always been fascinated by math and the world around us, and I enjoy bringing that curiosity into our classroom.

When I’m relaxing at home, I love reading, watching Disney movies, and spending time with my family. These hobbies help me stay creative, inspired, and ready to make learning fun for my students every day! I am looking forward to a great year!

The Positivity Project:

P2 Weekly Character Traits

Over these next two weeks, our school community will focus on the character strength of Gratitude. Gratitude means being aware of and grateful for good things that happen.

Gratitude is about feeling and showing thankfulness. It helps us see the good in others and in the world. People with gratitude are ready to appreciate and return kindness. Expert Robert Emmons says gratitude strengthens relationships because it makes us recognize how others support us.

Out of all 24 character strengths, gratitude is the single best predictor of individual well-being. It is linked to more energy, empathy, happiness, and optimism. The good news is that gratitude can be practiced and strengthened like a muscle. The more we practice it, the more benefits we get.
