Mesagna Class

Dear Elden Students, Families, and Staff:

Good Morning!

What an incredible week we just had! Our PTA planned something fun for every single day of Teacher Appreciation Week, and I want to share one last "thank you" to our Elden staff for everything they do for our Eagles. Huge gratitude also goes out to Mrs. Burns and the Elden PTA for making last week so memorable.

📅 Coming Up This Week
  • NYS Math Assessments: Monday and Tuesday for grades 3, 4, and 5.
  • Spring Concert: Thursday evening, featuring our band, orchestra, and chorus.
  • PTA Walk-A-Thon: Our annual event takes place this Friday!

Principal, Elden Elementary

We Need Your Feedback!

We are using ThoughtExchange and the linked survey below to gather feedback from the Elden community to help us identify our strengths and areas for growth.

The feedback will be used to help us review our improvement plan to address our school's designation by New York State as a school in need of Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI) based on student performance on the Grades 3-8 English Language Arts and Mathematics tests during the 2022-23 and 2023-24 school years. Feedback will also help us in developing our plan for the 26-27 school year.

The survey is expected to take less than 10 minutes to complete.

Thank you for your continued support in ensuring success for all students. We appreciate your feedback as we work together to improve our school!

Information Request for Next Year

Believe it or not, we are already starting to plan for next year.

If you know that your student(s) will NOT be returning to Elden, please complete this form for us.

If your student(s) are returning to Elden, no further action is necessary. Thank you!

Toys From Home

Moving forward, we request that you please keep all toys, including Nee Dohs, Labubus, 3D-printed objects, etc. at home. Lately these items have become more of a distraction in the classroom. Additionally, because it is difficult to keep track of personal belongings at school and on the bus, we want to prevent the upset that occurs when items go missing or get damaged.

We appreciate your help in keeping our students focused on their learning!

The Positivity Project:

P2

P2 Weekly Character Traits

This week, our school community will focus on the character strength of Leadership. Leadership means valuing each person in your group and encouraging everyone to do their best.

Leadership can be formal, like being a team captain, or informal, like helping others work together. It’s about getting things done while keeping the group’s spirit strong. Leadership isn’t just about telling people what to do — it’s about listening, understanding others, solving problems, and inspiring everyone to work toward a common goal.

As students learn more about leadership, they will see how working together with others can help them achieve more. Being a good leader helps build confidence and a strong sense of self.
